The European Film Awards are awarded by the European Film Academy every year. Amongst the prizes, there’s the category of Short Films.

The 2020 edition will be held in Reykjavik, Iceland. The standard rules for eligibility included that a film’s first official screening (festival or cinema) must have happened between 1st June 2019 and 31st May 2020. Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, it was extended to the end of November.

To be eligible to candidate, a short film has to be screened in a participating festival; the directors must be born in Europe or have a European passport; the films must be produced in 2019 or 2020; the maximum lenght is 30 minutes.
