Three sisters are facing an impending disaster: the imminent flooding by the sea of the lands where they live.
SORORAL’s animation is so pretty it leaves you in awe just on the title screen. The characters, so peculiar in their design, are also incredibly expressive: their facial movements are very realistic and delicate. Three sisters are facing a catastrophe that would lead to certain death; yet they stay together, dealing with the feeling of death itself in their own personal ways. As the salt corrodes them and water approaches dangerously, we can admire the amazing animation work alongside with a catching story. SORORAL is intense, sad, melancholic. An applause to the technique.
