This super short film comes from BBC One back in 2017, as a small advertisement for the Christmas holiday season. However, the story represented is actual. With an incredibly natural and realistic animation, especially in the dance moves – that look smooth and true, THE SUPPORTING ACT manages to use the stop-motion technique perfectly. The protagonists are a 10-year-old girl and her father, always busy with working issues. While she practices for the Christmas Talent Show, he doesn’t seem to have time for her nor pays her attention. Or is he? During the show, when she has stage fright, her father stands up from his seat and starts dancing to help his daughter remember the dance moves.
A sweet story with an heartwarming message – a hopeful way to live the Christmas spirit with a short film!
