You fly with no seat! That’s the rule in the Turbobus. To get one is a hard day job for a young wolf on his turbo-journey to find real friendship.
An adorable animation tells a nice story about friendship. TOBI AND THE TURBOBUS is very entertaining: little wolves taking a bus, cute characters with their personalities who have a considerable development even in just seven minutes. And the bus itself is interesting too: the recurring gag in the short film is that if you don’t have a seat, you just fly out of the window and land in the woods! Tobi, the main character, does everything he can to reserve a seat for his “best friend”, who is in fact a kind of a bully that takes advantage of this and is not so nice to Tobi. While our little friend lives different situations in order to have the seat next to him free if Freddy decides to go back to him, he will eventually process what a true friend is, with a little help from the other wolves. TOBI AND THE TURBOBUS surely presents a nice message for children, but is truly enjoyable by everybody, thanks to its adorable character design, amazing animation and fun ideas. The facial expressions and situations are so evocative that the short would have been effective even without Tobi’s narrative voiceover.
TOBI AND THE TURBOBUS was selected in many festivals, from American Documentary And Animation Film Festival AmDocs to Busan International Short Film Festival. It also won an award at Cinequest Film & VR Festival.
