Odysseus wants the Cyclops to stop eating his crew, but the Cyclops really, really loves eating people. Can these two somehow meet in the middle?
THE CYCLOPS DIET is a very ironic animated short film, with Polyphemus and Odysseus as the main characters: set on the cyclops’ island during the Greek hero’s journey, it features another point of view in the problem between the man and the monster. Polyphemus is eating all of Odysseus’ companions and, when asked to stop, he shifts the attention not to the fact that he is, indeed, eating humans, but on the fact that Odysseus is fat shaming him. After a discussion, with grotesque yet funny situations, the cyclops decides in the end to let the Greeks go: him and Odysseus agree to use the deception of ‘Nobody’ as an excuse for them being able to escape. THE CYCLOPS DIET is entertaining and the animation style is very cool and well made.
