The 2021 edition of the Biennale di Venezia, the ’78th edition (Mostra Internazionale d’Arte Cinematografica di Venezia, Venice International Film Festival) started on September 1st in Venice, Italy, and ended yesterday, 11th. Winners have been announced.

The short films in competition are running in the Orizzonti section; the Orizzonti Award for Best Short Film is an Oscar Qualifying Award.

We are only listing the short films awarded. Visit the Biennale website to know more about the other prizes. The Orizzonti Jury was composed of Mona Fastvold, Shahram Mokri, Josh Siegel and Nadia Terranova, who judged 19 feature and 12 shorts.
