After a heartbreaking loss, a grandfather struggling to reclaim his passion for painting finds the inspiration to create again.
CANVAS is a touching short film, with no words spoken, only music and feelings expressed by the facial expressions of the greatly animated characters. A man is struggling with grief: his wife has passed away and he seems to have lost his passion for painting. Delicate and heartwarming, the relationship between the man and his granddaughter will help him, along with art too, to recover his smile. Although not the most complicated plot, not at all actually, this simple story manages to be deep and inspiring, showing us the strength inside ourselves.
CANVAS won at as Outstanding Short at Black Reel Awards, Outstanding Short Form at Image Awards (NAACP) and was in nomination at Hollywood Critics Association for HCA Award and Motion Picture Sound Editors for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing – Animation Short Form Golden Reel Award.
