Maelstrom’s song Pecore Nere music video, featuring the director Gianvincenzo Pugliese’s grandfather.

PECORE NERE gets into your skin. It is the perfect music video to the homonymous song, but it is also a great short film in itself. The idea of having the director’s (and the song artist’s too) grandfather as main character is amazing, he is deeply expressive both in facial expressions and movements, and his gestures are perfectly cut and edited to suit the words in the lyrics. As the director himself states, when doing this short film, he also unwrapped the story of his family and he decided to portrait his grandfather as he himself is a “pecora nera”, a black sheep. All the locations are perfectly studied to be shot in their best moment of light, with meticulous frames, and all the scenes give these melanchonic and warm vibes. Places dear to the family, childhood memories, kissed by the sun. PECORE NERE is a true gem, a no budget project which punches more than a big production.

PECORE NERE won the Special Mention at Amarcort Film Festival 2021 in the Cantarel (music video) category.
