A boy looking for his cat to the edge of time, where who’s dead disappears and who’s alive let fly. Childhood illusions dissolve on the wheat field and make landscape.
SOGNI AL CAMPO is deeply fascinating. Drawn amazingly, it is refined, elegant, oneiric. The boy and his research of his cat are suspended between dream and reality, wrapped in painted and bewitching landscapes. Sound design is perfect for this strange dream, this journey, through time and fantasy. The colors are vibrant, they almost seem alive, and the short film is very effective in dragging the audience in this dreamlike sequence. SOGNI AL CAMPO is also a coming of age, where the boy faces death and fear, and changes while passing through a forest of symbols, learning to let go.
SOGNI AL CAMPO was in nomination at Leizpig DOK Festival, Ottawa International Animation Festival, Philadelphia Film Festival, Venice Film Festival for Horizons Award, and more. It won the Rex Award for animation at Amarcort Film Festival.
