The film freezes in time the terrible tragedy of an execution that took place in Italy in the summer of 1944, to the detriment of innocent peasants. An articulated long shot in which everything is still and everything changes.
CLOSED TO THE LIGHT shows a great ability of innovating the cinematographic language. This amazing short film chooses to tell a historical episode in a non-conventional way and impeccably succeeds. The actors are characters in living pictures, and those pictures compose, scene after scene, this film with strong dramatic force. Each and every shot is able to catch the drama of the moment with truth and stylistic coherence.
CHIUSI ALLA LUCE won Best Italian Short and Audience Jury Award at Amarcort Film Festival, the Premio Cortinametraggio Rai Cinema Channel at Cortinametraggio, won at Figari Film Fest and several other awards, mentions, prizes.
